From when to when is the Almhotel Kärnten open?
In WINTER from the beginning of December to the beginning/middle of April, depending on the time of Easter.
In SUMMER from the end of May to the middle of September.
Is the Almhotel right on the piste?
Yes, the Almhotel Kärnten is right on the piste in the Nassfeld ski area and offers ski-in & ski-out.
This means that you can ski straight from the hotel in the morning, come back to the hotel from the piste in between and ski right outside the hotel at the end of the day.
Is there a ski room and drying room for equipment?
Yes, there is a heated ski room with boot dryers available for guests.
Can I buy ski passes directly at the hotel?
Yes, ski passes are available at reception. This is particularly convenient and you avoid waiting times at the lift ticket offices.
You can choose from day passes and premium ski passes at a reduced price exclusively for you as hotel guests (from 1.5 days).
Are there ski hire and ski school nearby?
Yes, ski hire and ski school are just a 5-minute drive from the hotel.
Are there wellness facilities in the hotel?
Yes, the hotel has a sauna world with saunas and relaxation area.
What meals are included in winter?
In winter we offer half board - a hearty breakfast and a 4-course evening meal.
Is it possible to hike in winter?
Yes, there are groomed winter hiking trails and snowshoe routes around Nassfeld.
Is parking available at the hotel?
Yes, free parking is available directly at the hotel.
Is it possible to arrive even when it is snowing?
The access road is regularly cleared - winter equipment (winter tires, possibly snow chains) is recommended.
Are there après-ski facilities nearby?
Yes, several bars in the Nassfeld ski area provide atmospheric evenings.
Is the Almhotel also open in summer?
Yes, the Almhotel Kärnten is also open in summer - from the end of May to mid-September.

Yes, e-bikes and mountain bikes can be rented in the immediate vicinity.
Can children be kept busy in summer?
Yes, Nassfeld offers numerous family experiences. FOR EXAMPLE: Summer toboggan run, aqua trail and other family trails as well as mountain playgrounds but also children's adventure programs.
Are there swimming facilities nearby?
Yes, Lake Pressegger See is only a 30-minute drive away and is ideal for swimming and relaxing.
Are there activities for rainy days?
Yes, lots of them! Terra Mystica in Bad Bleiberg, Therme Villach, excursions to Italy or Hermagor or a visit to the climbing center "Klesch" and many more are popular activities on not so nice days.
Are dogs allowed?
Yes, dogs are welcome on request, for an extra charge.
Are there hiking trails directly from the hotel?
Yes, numerous hiking trails and bike routes start directly at the Almhotel - perfect for active vacationers.
Are there climbing routes nearby?
Yes! Not far from the Gartnerkofelbahn mountain station is the Däumling - a unique via ferrata at over 2,000 m above sea level with breathtaking panoramic views over Carinthia and Italy.
