Culinary delights on the alpine pasture

Whether for a short stop in between, as a destination for a hike or as a highlight to enjoy the view - the alpine huts and refreshment stops at Nassfeld are always worth a visit.
Regional delicacies from Gailtal alpine cheese to Galitaler Speck and of course classics such as Kaiserschmarrn and much more are often served.
Alpine farming (cheese, butter, milk ...) is practiced on the Watschiger Alm and the Tressdorfer Alm, where there is also a show dairy.

Watschiger Alm

This mountain pasture is located slightly above the Almhotel, on the Watschiger Alm lake and with a view of the Gartnerkofel. Cattle farming is practiced here. Dozens of cows provide the milk from which Gailtaler Almkäse cheese, other cheeses, butter and much more are made every day. Inside, the hut is rustic and cozy. Outside, you can enjoy the sunshine until late afternoon.
